PHA Conference

Tuesday, 1 September, 2009

The annual Public Health Association Conference officially launches today in Dunedin with an official welcome hosted by local Kai Tahu leaders. The theme of this year's conference focuses on "The Underpinnings of Public Health Practice: Research and Values".

The conference draws together public health researchers and practitioners, people who work in strategic management roles, academics, service providers, people from advocacy organisations, government and non-government organisations, District Health Boards, public health services, and community workers.

The Māori SIDS contribution to the conference includes a presentation on "Fifteen years of Maori SIDS prevention (1994-2009) - the indigenous perspective."
