RSS Explained and links to subscribe.

So what is RSS anyway?

It stands for Really Simple Syndication. In the past, if you wanted to see if a website had updated material, you would need to visit it to check and sometimes there would be nothing new - a real time waster. RSS notifies you when there is new content on websites or blogs that you choose to subscribe to. So instead of you having to check for new stuff, the RSS tells you.

What do I need to do?

You need an RSS Reader. You can either get a web-based reader or a desktop reader (i.e. you will need to download and install software). Here are some choices, there are others as well:

Now when you go to websites, you will see images that look a little like this rss or this rss and invite you to subscribe. Click on them and follow the instructions.
